Day 2: more yard work and the start of painting

Yesterday Elliott's mom helped me paint our old bedroom in our apartment and our new bedroom in our house.  Apparently our landlord was not so thrilled with our choice of dark teal as a bedroom color so we have to cover it up.  After a lot of painting and a little bit of back and forth we got primer and a first coat of paint on the bedroom at our apartment and the first coat of paint in our new bedroom.

Here's a sneak peak at our new light gray bedroom

During the work we removed the light fixture that was in between the built in closets because it was getting in the way of Elliott's TV.  When we pulled it off we discovered really old wiring.  It definitely didn't look safe.  So we wrapped it in electrical tape, capped the ends, and pushed it all back in the wall.  If we would have planned ahead we would have had drywall patch ready to go but we didn't.  So this will be one thing we'll have to pretty up later.  Here's the pics.

Elliott was busy all day as well.  In the morning he borrowed Justin's wood chipper and began to chop up all of the bushes that he had cut down.  He cleared out everything from the backyard and he also cut down all of the bushes on the one side of the house.  I couldn't believe how much he got done and how good it looked!!  He was soaking wet by the end of it because it was drizzling and so sore from hauling so many branches.  I am kicking myself for not getting a picture of the wood chipper.  It was really a sight!  And with Elliott running it all day I bet our neighbors were not happy with us!  It was loud!!

Here's what the backyard looks like now!  What a difference!
