This old scary thing:
To this brand spankin new thing:
A funny story about our old fuze box though. Our home inspector said that he teaches a class on electrics and that our fuze box would be a great teaching tool. We were both more than happy to give it to him, it's not like we could ever get any use out of it. So good ol Rick is going to stop by and pick it up.
We also had the electician give us quotes on a couple other things we would like to get done soon like adding an outlet and running wires for the TV above the fireplace, adding outside outlets, adding a ceiling vent in the bathroom, converting some of the outlets to grounded outlets. As you can tell the electrical in this house really needs a lot of work!
An air conditioning guy came over as well to give us a quote on installing AC. I don't know how that crazy old lady made it through 50 years in this house without air conditioning. We're getting it installed right away.
Besides showing those guys around Elliott and my dad made short work of the bushes around the house. The back of the house used to be covered in overgrown lilacs.
Not anymore. They tore all of them down. You can actually see the back of the house now!!
They also started working getting rid of all of the forsythia and other bushes that are taking up a good 40% of our backyard. It used to look like this:
And now it looks like this:
We're ripping up almost all of the bushes in the back and side of the house. There's just too much and it's all overgrown. We're leaving the bushes that are along the perimeter of the backyard for privacy. There's also a small area off of the screened in porch that at one time used to be a flower bed. I'm going to clean it up and maybe start a garden. Fresh tomatoes anyone?
