Patio

So a month ago I mentioned that we wanted to build a patio in our backyard in this post: Patio  Well we haven't made much progress.  Elliott started to dig the hole for the pavers but because we haven't gotten much rain lately so the ground was rock hard.  And after all of the work we did getting rid of the bushes we were out of steam in the manual labor department.  One of our best friends Justin owns a landscaping company and he offered to have his company do it for us for just the cost of labor.  Even though this was one project that we really wanted to do ourselves we also really wanted to just get it done.

Digging the foundation

Laying a gravel base layer

Step 3:
Laying a layer of leveling sand.

Step 4:
Laying the bricks

And a couple days later we had a beautiful patio!  We're so glad that we decided to have Justin's guys do the patio because it looks so perfect!  I don't think we could have done as good a job.

Can you believe that a couple months ago the back of our house looked like this?  Now we just have to work on the grass.

And of course the first thing that we had to do now that our patio was complete was build our grill!

 Elliott was so excited!
